KNIGHTS skipper Andrew Johns has put his Somerset Park house on the market for $469,950.
Johns's personal manager and Fordham Company managing director, John Fordham, said the league star bought the property as vacant land in 2000.The two-level, four-bedroom home, set on a 939-square-metre block at 18 Laurina Avenue, was completed late last year and has never been rented out.It has 390 square metres of living space.The house, set on the highest point at Somerset Park, features an upstairs family room with balcony and tiled high-traffic areas downstairs, including living areas, a rumpus room and study.The kitchen overlooks the outdoor living area, including an inground pool.Dalton Partners agent and Knights team manager Garry Callaghan has the property listed for sale and open for inspection today from noon until 12.45pm.Mr Callaghan said Johns had not lived in the house but had stayed there occasionally.From turf to tennisAN OLD turf farm at Cooranbong will soon be turned into an estate with a private park, tennis court and an orchard.Gosford-based development company Austmark Property bought 24 hectares of land from the Cooranbong Turf Farm, in two instalments, over the past two years.Thirty-three blocks of land ranging in size from 1500 to 1600 square metres will be sold from $330,000 to $375,000.The remaining 19 hectares will be turned into private parkland with open paddocks that will be bordered by Sandy Creek.The Ellenborough development has views of the Watagan mountains and is close to Dora Creek and Morisset railway stations and the F3 freeway.Austmark Property marketing manager David Simpson said 8000 advertisements would be sent to residents at Cooranbong and Morisset inviting them to a on site picnic days planned for October 23 and 24.Green acreageA PROPERTY at Maitland, owned by NBN programmer Wayne Hampton, has been sold for $780,000.His four-bedroom house is set on 2.5 hectares at Louth Park, near the Green Hills shopping mall.Tea Gardens couple Greg and Jenny Levick bought the house at 525 Louth Park Road.Located near Hunter Valley Grammar, the property has a full-size tennis court, saltwater pool and stables.Robinson Property agent Joanna Cook said the acreage was originally on the market for $759,000.Land value soarsA 710-SQUARE-METRE block of land at Valentine Gardens has shot up in value after only one year.Bought last year for $163,000, the vacant land was sold this month for $292,500.Buyers Raeleen and Stuart Middleton plan to build a home on the site to take advantage of Lake Macquarie.
